What you'll receive

We'll provide an overview of:

• Available capacity in our water and wastewater networks
• Any potential constraints that could affect your development
• Requirements for protecting our existing assets
• The approximate location of our water and wastewater infrastructure

The advice we provide is valid for 12 months and will help inform our response if we're consulted on your planning application by the local planning authority.

Timescales and Cost

We'll respond to your enquiry within 21 days. The cost of this service is £201.44 + VAT per application. Payment is required when you submit your application and is non-refundable.

Planning applications in Wales

If your development is in Wales, you may also need to complete a Pre-Application Consultation (PAC) as part of the planning process. We recommend obtaining pre-planning advice from us before proceeding with your planning application.

Sustainable drainage (SuDS)

Developments in Wales may require approval from the local Sustainable Drainage Approval Body (SAB) before construction begins.

Before submitting a pre-planning enquiry, we recommend contacting your local SAB to discuss how surface water from your site should be managed and whether a connection to the public sewer is appropriate.

You may also be eligible for our Surface Water Incentive Scheme if you plan to remove surface water from the wastewater network.
