Find Underground Pipes and Sewers
Before you start building work, it's important to know whether any of our water or wastewater assets are located on your site. Damaging our pipes can lead to delays, additional costs and legal action.
We can help you identify the location of our assets through an asset location survey, sewer trace or CCTV survey.
What you'll receive
Depending on your requirements, we can provide:
- Sewer traces and CCTV surveys to help locate public sewers on your site.
- Water main traces where the pipe material can be detected by our survey equipment.
- Asset location surveys for other water and wastewater assets.
Please note that some water mains cannot be traced using above-ground survey methods. In these cases, further investigation may be required.
Timescales
As every site and survey is different, timescales will vary depending on your requirements.
Cost
- A CCTV survey or sewer trace for a standard residential property (with a sewer diameter below 225mm) costs £248.33 + VAT.
- Some water main traces may be provided free of charge where the asset can be detected by our equipment.
- More complex investigations and asset location surveys are charged on a case-by-case basis.
